My rpm's go way up......?

They just keep getting higher and higher whenever I have the handlebars pulled all the way over to the right.
The only time that I have to have them that far is when I am backing her up to park.
I checked the throttle cable to the grip and it doesn't have a lock nut up where it goes into the place where the cable meets the plastic. So it just kind of swivels when I push it around. But I tried that when the bars were straight and it didn't change a thing.
I have this problem with my other motorsickle too. But that is such a rat bike that it's just an amazing wonder that she has the gitty-up-go that she has.
So I just shut them off whenever I'm parking. Eh...

Oodles,

Find some more slack in your throttle cable and make sure that the cable end is somehow attached to the throttle twist grip assembly.

If the cable end is not attached to the hand assembly on the bars it allows the turning of the handlebars to pull on the inner cable.

.
try some spray lube on the cable..... WD40 or the like.... spray untill it runs through the cable (it washes the dirt & grit out) .. then apply a small amount of grease... should be like new then
35 years riding & counting..
U don't have ur throttle cables properly adjusted. Ur best bet is to take it a motorcycle shop and have them do it. Its not hard to do, but if u don't have them adjusted right, then you might not be able to get WOT or a runaway throttle. Remember, ur on 2 wheels, better to have someone who knows what they are doing do it, then u get hurt.
