How much does a rear bicycle wheel cost? |
The back wheel of my Giant Cypress bicycle was stolen. How much does a new wheel cost? Can I buy it anywhere beside the dealer (like online)? BUY TWO LOCKS! Cost depends ..... starts at about 35 bucks with the cassette (sprockets) and price goes way up if you want a dual rim or if you have disc brakes. You can buy it online but beware because rims come in a variety of specifications so if you are not sure visit a your local bike shop. well it depends on what inernet u have and type... sorry i couldn't give more.. Check with local dealers. Many have new or near new "take-offs". Most online bike retailers also sell wheels. Try e-bay. Depends on the wheel and what it's made of. Buy a used one. There is a very wide price range depending on what you get. Anywhere from $35 or $40 up to $300 or more. I would stick to the local bike shop instead of buying online. They will make sure to get the spacing right for the proper cassette and will make sure to true the wheel and tension the spokes properly. A new wheel should cost about $70 to a few thousand. The Cypress is a MTB right? That would make it a 26inch rim with a 135mm spacing. Also get same cogs as your gear shifter. 8sp = 8 cogs, 9sp = 8cogs (cog set= the set of gears attached to the wheel) V brakes? Get a wheel with a rim wall Disk brakes? Get a wheel with disk hubs ( rotors also ) |
