i have a bike lock/holder that i need to drill into my truck bed, but i don't have acess to it from the bottom to lock it with a nut. some people have suggested i use self tapping scews, tek screws, since the truck bed's metal isnt too thick, but i need this to be very strong to hold a 35-40 lb bike up right. any suggestions? thanks
Try a product called Nutserts...they look like a barrel with threads on one end and require a tool to install--usually come in a kit with different sizes and are made for attaching bolts to sheet metal from one side. Use locktight product or lock washers to keep it tight. Harbor Freight should have the kit.
