Where and how do you put a bike lock on a bike? |
I just recently got a Kryptonite bike lock, model CC1018 or CC1218 (I'm not sure which.) I have no idea which part(s) I'm supposed to put it on. Please give a detailed explanation, if any. you need to attach it to the frame and a stationary object (bike rack, light pole, etc.) you can also put it through the wheel if it is a long enough cable or chain. just remember to put it on the main body of the bike when you put it around the wheel. i have known people who would just put it on the tire and they ended up coming back to just a tire after class was over. If the lock didn't have details on how to mount brackets etc, go back to shop, ask for guidance Hey El Loco, -I think you have the C1218 U-lock. If you have the U-lock you should remove the front wheel. Then lock the front wheel to the frame and rear wheel. You should also lock the frame to a secured pole or public bike rack. -I would recommend a chain and lock to secure your bike, so you have more room and options to secure your bike to a stationary object. I use a coiled 7 foot cable and lock to secure my bike. I also remove my seatpost just in case. I just thread the cable through my frame, rear wheel and front wheel then secure the cable to a light post. Hope this helps. = ) |
