How can I find out the combo for my bike lock? |
I forgot it. I might be able to help, but not knowing what type of lock it is I can only give you a general idea about how to figure out the combination. You have to apply tension to the lock. Pull on it as if you were trying to pull it open. The more tension the better. At the same time turn each dial one at a time. Each dial turns a disc inside which has a notch cut in it. When the dial is at the proper number you should feel the dial catch just slightly. That should be the point where the notch and latch/pins/pegs align. Sometimes there will be more than one number at which the dial seems to catch. If so write the numbers down. Then move on to the next dial and repeat the process. When you have written down all the numbers for each dial try all the possible combinations until you find the right one. If this doesn't work, cut it off and get a new one. Well this way is random it's happened to me before .... i tried 000, 001, 002, 003, 004....... until you get it..........100,101,102,103. But I think there's a way to pick lock it, or there is a way to reset it read the manual that comes with. Cut it off and remember to write down the combo of your next lock. if it is a masterlock, you can take it to your local Ace Hardware store and have them call Masterlock and get the combo from the back of the lock. If it is not a Masterlock, than I agree with the others, cut it off and by a Masterlock.... take a saw too it. break the lock or saw threw it. Your bike is more important than a $10 lock |
