Bike locks that work, even in the winter? |
I'm having problems with bike locks. I live in IL, so it gets pretty cold, with snow and ice and all. I need a bike lock that will work, not get stuck, and not freeze shut. I've already tried a couple cable locks that have gotten stuck or got ice stuck in the lock. Does anyone know a decent bike lock that will work, even in the winter? Or does anyone know how to fix locks with these problems? I know that problem all too well. In bad weather, locks can be frustrating. I would get a good bike cable that uses a separate lock. As you discovered, most problems are in the locking unit itself. I recently had to throw out a "one piece" lock because the key well went bad. No more "one piece" locks for me. When you use a separate lock and cable and the lock itself goes bad, all you have to do is change the lock itself instead of tossing out the whole thing. I hope that I was helpful. Get the Kryptonite lock. Good in these conditions (I live in Chi-Town too). For the freezing part. Try wrapping plastic around it. It should work. get a krepto |
