Has anyone had problems with Kryptonite's new lock system? I traded my olde tubular lock in for this new one and have nothing but problems from day one. I've talked to other people who complain about it as well. I ended up buying a Bull Dog lock today. I guess I should start calling them Krap-tonyte. They're awful.
Anyone have any tips on how to get the darn thing to work on a consistent basis?
Yeah, the new key system is not too good. If you have the Evolution series lock, it works fairly well as long as you make sure the key goes all the way in before trying to turn it. As for the standard Kryptonite lock series or the Kryptolok series, well, they just plain suck. Lock jams, key bends, unhappy cyclist. Lubing the cylinder with some tri-flo or white lightning helps a little.
Maybe they'll replace this one like they did the tubular key model a while back. One can only hope. |
