BMW R80 steering stops.?

Bit of a lame question really since I will find the answer if I care to strip a lot of fairing off my bike to find out but I'll ask anyway.
Where exactly it the fork or steering stops located. My bars turn too much to the right so that, on full lock (when slow manouvering) the clutch lever fouls the fairing mirror bracket causing clutch to dissengage causing me to nearly fall off as the bike wants to immediately lie down.
Can't see beacause of the RT type fairing so it would be really neat if someone told me exactly where to look and what to do about it.
It would save a lot of skinned knuckles and swearing.
PS
Yes, I know, I can change the position of the bars slightly so the lever misses but I rather like the riding position exactly where it is.

The steering stops are locating on the bottom triple tree and the lower part of the steering tube. Essentially, two outer "tabs" on the bottom triple tree hit the inner "tabs" on the steering tube, thereby limiting side -to-side movement. You should be able to see this looking underneath from the front.

Buy some stick-on lead wheel weights from an auto supply store and stick them onto the "tabs" on the steering tube. This will further limit the movement, and prevent the bar coming too far back. The lead compresses somewhat and won't damage anything.

Some older motorcycles came with screw-type adjusters fixed to the "tabs" to adjust steering lock, but the R80 has none.
