What is the normal method of changing a bicycle lock combination? Hi, Hit it with a hammer till it breaks, that will give you the excuse to go buy a new one. Skip I only know the abnormal methods, I'm afraid. Depends on the type of combination lock, usually you need to take the lock apart and swap the reels around. On mine, you need to input the correct code to begin, then press a button which shifts the locking mechanism into neutral, so to speak. You then reset the cylinders to whatever new code you need, and set the button back. Now the lock is set to unlock with the new code. I have seen locks that cannot be changed, or need to be taken apart first, but hey, maybe this helped. |
