By the traffic lights the box for cyclists is it right that you must never stop in there in a car? |
Surely you keep outside it when the lights are red. Some folk say if there are no bikes in it you can go into it and wait for green light. Which is correct please? you shouldnt go in them til the lights are green You must keep out of it until you move off. Even if there are no bikes when you arrive at the red light, a bike may come along. You shouldnt go in their = only to pass through once the lights have gone green as it says in the highway code you must stop at the first white line stay out of it , it provides the cyclists an area safe for them to turn , if your in there they are put at undue risk Apparently NOT. Check with DVLA, but I've heard they are going to start putting cameras at the lights and send charges to those who STOP in the GREEN CYCLIST BOX. The laws vary according to where you live but where I live, you aren't allowed to pull into those until the light turns green ....... = ) Who pays for being on the road? If a cyclist want rights, give them rights, if they want the same rights as the road users, let them pay to use the roads, I do not think that is an unfair answer. T.W.R. |
