TVS Victor - Switches off while riding in hot sun (opening tank cover once works)?

Hi, I have strange problem with my TVS Victor. If I had parked the bike under sun or riding during bright sun light, while on the move, bike starves of petrol and switches off. To get it started again, I need to open up tank lid and close it again. Looks like pressure is created inside the tank as when I open the lid, there will be air gushing inside.

What could be the possible problem and suggested solution?

Thanks

The prob is in the pressure inside the tank. Victor comes with an air "tight" lid, so no air can enter into the tank, and petrol(or petrol vapour) cant escape out. The carburettor 'asks' for petrol from the tank. The tank sends it by gravity. Fuel goes smoothly to the carb when same volume of air enters the tank. But since victor is 'tight', air does not enter. so when the carb drinks fuel, air pressure drops. petrol has its own vaporization rate, the prob comes when this rate is far low than the carb feed (drain)rate. what happens? low pressure stops petrol from flowing down. the prob is rectified by drilling a fine hole to allow the entry of air into the tank.. actually if u keep in hot sun, petrol vapor pressure build up and carb gets 'flooded' with petrol when riding, so u can see great pickup in that time!!
My friend had the same prob, when he contacted tvs dealer, they drilled a fine hole to solve the prob, free of course!!

The vent in the fuel tank cap is not allowing air to the fuel tank. Clean the the cap from the inside using a spray can carburetor cleaner.

I don't know if the bike has an evaporative control system (ECS) like many US bikes, but that could also be a problem. On ECS models, the carbon canister can become saturated with gas and it prevents the fuel tank from getting adequate venting. Two ways to eliminate the problem, remove the ECS and just use a breather tube from the tank, or drill a vent in the bottom of the cap.

All you need to do it to clean the keyhole of your fuel tank. This will allow the air to go into the tank and let the fuel out.
There is not need to drill a hole into the tank, as this would also allow excessive evaporation and also the water during the rains.
