Why do all of these "custom" bikes look the same?

OCC, west coast customs, all cookie cutter bikes...why?

300 series rear tire, short stubby fender, single seat, funky stretch tank, ugly underpowered twin engine, belt drive trans, small stubby tail light, small stubby headlight, small front fender, and short handlebars....

isn't this design tired yet?

why do people continue to buy this cookie cutter design?

That isn't even the tip of the iceberg. Even next to the Harley, these bikes are total crap. A friend of mine had a shop that built the things. He took me back to see one that had vibrated a fender in half after 300 miles. Cracked right down the middle of this heavy gage steel. All metal on metal construction combined with really huge V-twins, they just tear themselves apart.

Generic, corny, tacky.

Face it, there are two kinds of motorcyclists. Those who love performance, and those who want to ride in a parade and be a member of the village people.

Once in my carefree youthful days I approached a Hell's Angel at a party in Northern California and asked him the same thing about their bikes. I also added that they even looked alike with the same scruffy beards and mustaches, leather jackets with Levi jackets with the sleeves cut off, same boots, same tattoos, etc. Now thirty years later you can't tell a Hell's Angel from a corporate accountant. They all are trying to fit into th "bad boy" mold.
Just goes to show you that this group are really followers and not leaders. They just want to like someone they saw in a movie.
PS: I lived through my question session and they bought me a beer, they said I had the "heuvos".

There's are so many ways you can customize a motorcycle and the OCC, West Coast type designs are just different than your standard cruisers.
Some unique features that really stand out that not all custom bikes have besides a unique paint job is not having any wires or cables showing, a body, tank and fenders that is one piece throughout the whole bike, copper plated rather than chrome, one of a kind rims, etc

Many of your sportbike are being customized. Stretched out in the back, lowered, big fat rear tires, pimped out with video and GPS screens on the tanks and all that as well as your chrome and paint jobs.

But overall, you cannot change the basic design of the bike too much or it won't be rideable on the streets or even legal to ride.

The ones you typically see on TV come from mostly the same few people or shops, so what they use to building or like to build is what you typically will see. If you pick up a magezine such as, Roadbike (a metric motorcycle magazine), you will see custom cruisers/choppers and other type bikes that will make your mouth water. The bikes that I see OCC building, typically the same base frame, raked fork, and some custom cutting and painting. Don't get me wrong, they build nice bikes, but I have seen better.

Style Mag try it sometime Do they have that many diffrent styles of Quack birds ?? You are telling everybody how great they are
Why do all sport bikes look like a plastic Box on wheels and sound like a cat with its tail caught in a door

A Sport bike custom !!!!! Im having one painted right now A 230 mph candy wrapper What do you think you could do with those things Its gonna be black matbe then i can sell it Yeah the kid rode it put it in the shop and said sell thatPOS

Down Willie you prob dont have either one anyway PMF

It is very simple....to keep pricing down....each of those "custom" bike shops have their own concepts.....they all have several basic designs they can produce cheaply enough for normal people to buy...these bikes are what they call...production bikes.....then they have the true custom bikes...the one of a kind types bikes...and you are going to pay for those....70,000+ and I have seen upwards of 150,000 in some cases....but each of these shops have to keep a low key, every day bike that is easy and fast to build for the average every day customer. If you want a true custom, build it yourself, or be willing to pay the big bucks for it.

what a brainless question. Why do all muscle cars look so much alike? Why do all handguns look alike? rifles? baseball bats etc etc etc?
It's because people like a certain style and that is what they want to buy. Being in business, you have to provide what customers want, or you are out of business. Production customs have to fit into a certain price and demographic. True customs cost more than the average person can afford, unless they build it themselves. That was the only way I could afford my first "custom".
Why do crotch rockets all look like plastic Mattel toys? without the graphics, they are all interchangeable.
We all realize you have no concept of style. All you care about is go fast and put down other bikes. But cheer up skippy, some day you will grow up and figure it all out for yourself.

anything that can be bought on a production line I dont consider a custom. So I do not consider Big Dog,Iron Horse,Big Bear and what ever alse is out there. If two people can order the exact same bike, then how is this custom. They are choppers but not custom choppers.I would consider a gut that bought a bike and changed, bars, lines, exhaust, air cleaner ect.more of a custom then these.

Personally, I think all of the Sport Bikes are the cookie cutter bikes.

If it weren't for the cheesy looking stickers on the side, you can't tell one from the other.

You answered your own question when you said "buy". These are not custom bikes. they are built in factories. So really they are just ugly stock bikes. then the owners get ticked off when they see my panhead chop and I ask them how they like their FAKE choppers.

Why do all "crotch rocket" bikes look the same? Look in the mirror before you start asking dumb questions.

They are all uniquely massed produced

Why do squids care what real bikes look like? Most buy them because they have 30-40 g's to spend on a toy

i'll write this very slowly ,cause i know you cant read too fast....................
if you have to ask,you would'nt understand

as an answer I would like to refer you back to randy and indianjohn's answers.

Cos it's a custommmmm...ARG!!!

i agree i get so tired of the same looking thing, i gotta say tho i think they need to have more shows for sportbike cutoms, besides that one with jason britton

as was said before indianjohn better than a wet fart....

What is it with you homos on choppers, let me guess your a dentist or something trying to live on the edge huh... get a life.
