Catholics: do you have an office for the dead similar or different than the Kaddish? Prayer for the dead?

Mine uncle who has died early this morning has no children. I intend to say the prayer for the dead for him, with G-d's blessing (insh'Allah).

Moslems? What is the proper prayer for the dead? If the uncle was an Unbeliever, is there a special prayer? He was a just man and an honorable man. I am hoping he saw the Light. Let us hope he is with the Light (Allah)

Catholics have many prayers for the dead, but the most effective of all is the Mass.

I can't see any reason why a Mass could not be offered for your uncle.

But yes there is an office for the dead in Catholicism. it is a liturgy of the hours prayer cycle for the deceased. It is done when they die and also each year on all souls day for all who have departed.

Catholics do have special prayers for the dead. There are prayers for the gathering in the presence of the Body, prayers after death and prayers with the dying.
There are special prayers and readings done during the Funeral Mass as well as prayers that are said at the funeral parlor and at the cemetery.
