Hayabusa engine trouble.?

I was riding my friends hayabusa with a female friend of mine and when she went to get off at a location she got off on the right side and the bike fell over on to the curb the bike continued to run fine and i picked it up noticed some scratches and thought nothing of it. I informed my friend. On the ride home he claimed it stopped running wouldn't start and is useless now. Is there a safety device in the engine to cause this or some type of turn over safety. The bike fell on a curb so was still standing at about a 15% grade. It drove i and my female rider back to work perfectly fine with no signs of anything. His bike is either 07 or 08 i can't remember but some light on this would be nice. Thanx guys.

It has a bank angle sensor (tip over switch).
If the bike is laid over, the sensor will turn off the ignition system, thinking the bike was in a crash.
Sometimes they get stuck in the off position after lifting the bike up.
After you lifted the bike up, the switch may have just barely moved to the run position.
Any movement after that could bump it to the off position and get struck.
Racers completely deactivate the switch for that reason.

It should NOT have hurt it. I asume it was just idling and you didn't twist the throttle and rev it to redline as it went over did you? I think it probably does have a tip-over shut off but since it didn't lay all the way over it didn't actuate - or it would have shut off when it fell over not later. With friends like this - you don't need enemies! He is probably gonna want a new engine. It seems that if there HAD been any damage (which i doubt) you would have noticed it immediately - not delayed until you gave the bike back. Note that in motorcycle races bikes "crash" riders fall off and sometimes get up - pick the bike up and get back in the race!

A simple fall like should not have damaged anything except the fairings(cowlings). He is probably just making it all up. Just to be sure though, I would check to make sure all of the electrical connections are snug.
