Motorcycle idles at 1k with lights flikering andt when throttle up, sputters and stalls?

Ok so the issue yesterday was the bike started fine after cleaning carbs but idled at 3800. Now i took the carbs just to see them but did not take them apart. Put them back on except without hooking them back up to the air box. It took a while to start and when it did the idle was at 1000 but lights were flikering and when you would throttle up it would sputtr and stall. Also this is starting with battery on chargr, the battery is bad. If the battery is the prob for the new issue then its lame to think original issue with high idle will remain.. PLEASE help with both probs.

You need a new battery. When you increase rpm. The ignition system draw more electric and the electric is not enough power. It can cause quit and stall.
And The charging is running and cannot charge battery. Because battery die. cannot hold charging it own due dead battery.

as the flicker light. The voltage regulator cannot control over charging that battery are dead. So the voltage regulator had to discharge electric into ground. That cause flicker.
I had experience twice on motorcycle repair shop. Customer cannot afford new battery so I had to jump it and keep idle up. when they left. It stalled.

What bike are we talking about?? Two storke or Four stroke??

did you let it warm up enough before trying to crank the throttle?
