Am I doing to much? |
I am getting in shape for the army and this is workout i am doing. is it to much? I feel good and I know the Army will work me much harder in Basic. I am making sure to eat healthy meals and drink lots of water. Day 1: Circuit train using light weights for 30-45 minutes. Between each set do one of the three: either 10 push-ups, 20 situps or 25 jumping jacks. After lifting do 30 minutes of running/jogging and 30 minutes on the stat bike. I usually follow that up with 30 more minutes of running later on in the evening. Day 2: Rest. Day 3: Repeat day 1, but switch out the stat bike for either the eliptical or a stair master. Day 4: Rest Day 5: Repeat day 1. Day 6: 1 solid hour of brisk walking and 30 minutes on the eliptical. I usally run 30 minutes later on in the day too. Day 7: 1 solid hour of brisk-to very brisk walking. Then you start over again I would just run and do push ups and sit ups... I lost so much muscle mass in basic, you only get three meals and you will be moving all the time. I would lay off the walking unless you are carrying a rucksack, bike and stair climber for running and dont stop at 10 push ups...get used to staying in the front leaning rest for a few mins...then cranking out 50 push ups. Sit ups are OK, but work on flutter kicks...when most troops get tired and cant do more pushups we switched to flutter kicks then back again Also, try doing some pull ups too... dont forget stretching too...strech before and after running good luck It's good but maybe do more running. You will be running a lot in the army. since you say you feel fine and energized by your routine...another way to check you health status is if your base HR is going down (conditioned atheletes have lower resting heart rates than the average person). but it's always good to not work the same muscle groups 2 days in a row. i follow a 4days on, 1day rest routine for working out...helps me not exhaust myself =) good luck--get buff! (maybe do more endurance exercises?) excellent! you are doing good but you need to do it everyday, maybe not as brisk but ib the army they will probably make you do it daily. I don't think you are doing too much exercise. In fact, I feel you may try to increase the amount of exercises on day 6 & 7. |
