Who makes the brightest LED bicycle tail light? |
Who makes the brightest LED bicycle tail light? Does it matter. Even the elcheapo ones can be seen from miles away. For tail lights go with more not brighter. A motorist that sees a whole bunch of lights thinks a hole bunch of bicycles. Even the brightest one will dull as the batteries go off. Headlights are different thing. I think its Luxeon with their 3 watt leds CatEye opticubes are always a favourite of mine, but they may not be as bright as the Luxeon based lighting system. Dude Glen B is completely right. Nite Rider, 19 LEDs in the tailllight. Visible from something like 3000 feet. They make some awesome headlights, too. A bit pricey, but worth it if you do a lot of riding after dark. I run the Cateye LD - 600s 5 LED and the LD - 1000 10LED on the back of my trike. they are cheap and have good runtimes and I don't have to figure out where to run power lines and mount battery packs. NiteRider makes an excellent tail light they claim is thirty times brighter than others and is compatible with the older NR systems 2002 to present, if you like battery packs. |
