Who makes the brightest LED bicycle trail light? |
Who makes the brightest LED bicycle trail light? I was shopping for helmet mounted bike lights for my bro when he was in Iraq. The Petzl and Princeton Tec LED lights were the brands that consistently outshined the others in their price range. i dont know, u might look at CatEye but as much as i like LED i dont think they have the technology to make them very bright yet. Blackburn System X3 LED Headlight This thing is bright, but not quite as bright as a HID system. Does it matter. (for tail lights) Even the elcheapo ones can be seen from miles away. For tail lights go with more not brighter. A motorist that sees a whole bunch of lights thinks a hole bunch of bicycles. Even the brightest one will dull as the batteries go off. Buy a couple of cheapish ones and spend on the head light. Innova make a bright one the t4 (I think 82 lumens). It is made for Tactical / Police use. Can be mounted to a bicycle easily. There are probably brighter ones out there but this one is particularly suited to cycling I just weighed mine at 280 grams (10oz) including battery. Burns for over two hours and similar light to a ten watt halogen. Still recommend having a backup light as well.
