Need some help...?

Im 13 wks pregnant and feeling so bad about myself and how I look. I have a history of eating disorder and I'm already about 40lbs heavier then I was when I got pregnant with my first child. I'm trying to eat right and I hardly ever eat "junk" food and I try to keep myself active and busy so that I'm doing something physical. i use a toning band to work on my arms (5 days a week about 10 minutes at a time once or twice a day) and I use a thigh master and butt master ( I know pathetic right) for my inner and outer legs. I do leg lifts to the side and to the back when I dry my hair to help target my hips. I know you can't do a ton when pregnant but I'm going nuts here. I want to enjoy this pregnancy but I'm already finding it hard to do that. I wish it was safe to lose weight during pregnancy. As soon as my schedule gets a little better I plan on doing some light biking with my son and walking but I feel like it's not going to be enough. Im really excited about this baby but so stressed

Katy,

Give yourself a break girl and stop stressing about being overweight while you are pregnant. It's not good for you or the baby! Just concentrate on eating as healthily as you can, and stick to simple stuff like walking in the park, swimming or even going on your bike. I have an 8 month old boy, and I am still overweight myself, so I completely understand how you feel about yourself. Enjoy the pregnancy and try to accept that it takes nine months to make a baby and will take probably just as long to get back to where you were before afterwards.

If you still feel you have to lose some weight once you have had the baby, then speak to your doctor and join a weight loss group and do it slowly and sensibly. There isn't a quick fix for losing weight and it is better to be a bit overweight and healthy than skinny and unable to function properly, especially when you have kids to look after.

This is the time when you should be looking after yourself, so forget the serious work outs which will only exhaust you as you get bigger! Hope the rest of your pregnancy goes really well.

You are only 13 weeks pregnant? The baby doesn't even weigh an ounce yet
If you are feeling down about yourself and have a history of an eating disorder, talk to your OB about your feelings. He or she may have some suggestions about how to slow your weight loss while still keeping things safe for your baby. Your mood might also improve if you can manage to squeeze in a little cardio exercise. Don't overdo it, but some walking or light biking could be great not only for your body but also for your mood. Given the weather, it may also feel good to go swimming if you can convince yourself to put on a bathing suit. If you can't fit in formal exercise, try playing with your son outside. Depending on how old he is, you can teach him about running, marching, hopping on one foot, jumping jacks, and anything else you can think of. Not only will the exercise help you to feel better, but it would be great for him to learn a love of exercise and moving. Hang in there, and if you start feeling too bad, make sure you tell someone who can help you through your feelings. You are not alone!
Girl I know how you feel I'm 16 weeks and feel terrible. People have been telling me if I don't change my attitude and stop STRESSING I can loss my baby. So my advice to you is the same. I wish you much luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well congrats! Being pregnant is so overwhelming, and when I would Want any thing unhealthy I felt so bad , and guilty. There is no safe diet when you are pregnant.. Have you talked to your Doctor? I gained 50 pounds when I was pregnant, and the doctor let me drink 1 slim fast drink and i ate 1 piece of fruit for lunch. I lost 15 pounds by doing this, and he was so healthy!

Also you should be so proud of yourself, you are eating right and exercising, if every woman did this during their pregnancy allot of husbands would be real happy!!!! lol I walked during my pregnancy every night for 45 min. I also would ride my bike, and life 5 pound weights to keep my arms tone. You are not the only woman who goes through this! I went through it too, and I would look in the mirror and cry. I think that you should talk to your doctor about this, it really helped me. And remember you are not fat.... I call my pregnancy being swollen....lol :)

Keep eating healthy and exercises. You are doing the right thing for you and your baby. Good luck and God bless
