Xj600n problem again. EVERY WEEK THIS BIKES FAILS ME? |
Thank god i have free parts and labour for a year. I got it back from the garage unders 24hrs ago. I noticed oil all over my right boot when i came inside. i went out to look at my bike and there was oil all over the gear box. I traced more oil and it looked like it was coming from under the petrol tank area. I believe this is the engine!. I am taking it in on Tuesday for them to fix it. 1st problem was that it cut out. They found that the lights were shorting all the cdi unit and fuses. they took the switch off and when i turn my key the lights come on automatically now. 2nd problem was exhaust blowing. this was welded up and ok now. 3rd problem was battery died. found the source and this is sorted now. and now this. You wont believe this, but i have only owned the bike 2 mths and done 300 miles on her. CAN MUCH ELSE GO WRONG? anyway, any ideas about the oil leak fromthe engine. Also does anyone know if i can send the bike back to them and demand my money back. had xj600n diversion for 5 years now k reg , is the oil coming from the air box ?? i had this once scared the crap out of me i had just had a month or so thought it was the engine, turned out to be condensation in the engine from the short runs to work through the winter 5 mile so when did the run up to south Shields to a rally at the week end & engine got hot it came out of air box that was the end of that just change the oil more now, also would not accept not having a light switch to turn lights off bring it back as soon as possible they will refuse at first but be persistant agree to sign a gag contract otherwise u will go tell everyone u can how much it sucks even take out radio and tv commercials if u have a good relationship with the dealer he will work for you if not contact the manufacturer directly maybe ask if they will jsut trade it in good luck- when u done fighting that bike buy a moto-guzzi great mileage, lots of power and last forever This is why real motorcyclists work on their own bikes. The solution is buy a Harley. This way if it breaks down you can still sit on it and look DAMN GOOD! visit you local Citizens Advice Bureau and ask how to legally go about getting a refund. As oil escaping on a motorbike is a serious safety issue state the the garage you have lost all confidence in the bike and you wish to return it. The may try to give you a similar bike but whether you accept it is up to you. Just remember, no all faults can be for-seen. i FEEL SORRY FOR YOU BUT AS A MOTOR CYCLE TECHNICIAN THE YAMMY XJ 600 IS CRAP they have such a weak top end and are so un reliable we get customers all the time trying to sell them to us get a fazer ( ace ) or a bandit , sorry matey i know its your baby but adopt another !!!!! |
