I've decided to buy a 883 sportster custom. The guy wants....?

$3800 for a 1993 with 26k mileage on it. The bike has almost everything including hypercharger, chome Trans covers both sides, sawblade rims(polished), chrome batt. cover, sproket cover, handle bars, controls, grips, shifter, pegs, uniquie back light with purple center. The bike is orange with factory sportster decals. Drag pipes as well. The bike i think has an aftermarket cam. It's faster than most 883's also it's lowered. What do you think? Is it worth it?

it would be better having vance and hines long shots for pipes instead of drag pipes. too many discount just what the sportster is capable of when it's been upgraded to stage 3. they're a potent little hotrod that would be too much for rookies to handle.

only thing i would change on this would be to put on vance and hines pipes and get it dyno'ed. there's 2 different kinds of cams; 1 for performance, and the other for torque. a high torque cam will have some neck snapping torque coming off the line. not as much as a hayabussa, but enough to terrify a complete noob.

be careful with a lowered bike. lowering also reduces lean angles a bit. this means it will scrape the pegs sooner than a standard 883. i would say this is a hell of a deal for what it has on it....actually, it's under valued. buy it and enjoy. i would suggest putting on a sundowner seat if the bike doesnt already have it on.that is a great deal...sportsters rock!
I don't think much of the 883 sportster. Unless you are a brand new rider or a small framed person, (under 5'6" or so) it will probably not be a large enough framed bike for you. I rode one and thought it felt like riding a moped with a little more pep. As for the value, contact a local dealer and see what they say. Without knowing what condition it is in ... kinda hard to tell.
If you are a female and he has all the stock parts yes go for it.

If he dont have the stock parts offer him 3000.00 for the bike.

Not worth it!!! Save your self another three grand and buy it brand new... Sportster is the cheapest bike H-D makes so in my opinion is not all that!
