92' CBR 600 was hotwired and will not start. There is no power w/ good battery and main fuses. How do I fix? |
The motorcycle was stolen and hotwired. It was recovered by the police and I rode it home w/ the hotwire. The next day I reconnected the wires to the ignition but there was no power. I disconnected the wires and tried to use the hotwire again but no power. The lights didn't come on and the bike is dead. I checked the battery and it's good. I checked the main fuse box at the front right of the bike and all those 10 amp fuses are good. There may be some intermitent fuses that I don't know about. Is there a fuse that usually blows when a bike is hotwired? I just don't know where to go from here. Can somebody out there help me out? you said you checked the small fuses, but it sounds like you didn't check your main fuse. This is a big blade fuse usually 30amp and it's connected to the starter relay. The easiest way to find that is to follow the wire coming off of your starter back to a relay there you will find the main fuse. Buy a shop manual, or take it to a shop. So I know that you didn't steel the bike and are trying to hot wire it, tell me what wires were connected to each other to hot wire it. I'll help you fix it. Send me your email address and I'll answer you direct. get a manuel from the bike CBR600 dealer there should be a wiring digrame in it .Get rid of the hot wire stuff an have the bike wired back like it was stock.either you or a bike mechanic should put the wiring back stock if not will cost you more because it could short out your whole wiring system |
