What would do? |
Early Easter morning while riding my motorcycle, while at a stop light I noticed a Ambulance speeding thorugh a amber light. Moments later as I approached the same light a Fire truck came through finally putting on the lights and siren. Just in time I stopped and let the Fire truck go ahead of me. As he turned the Corner he accidently clipped the front wheel of my bike slamming me from the left, knocking me to the ground, I ended up with the entire bike on top of my right side, pinning my right foot under the bike, I managed to lift the bike up and off of me. Checked myself out and seemed to have no major injuries. But the Fire crew never stopped, no other emergency services responded not even a police. They just knocked me to the ground and left. I feel anything could have happened I could have been seriously hurt or killed. What would you do? Holy crap, your're lucky you weren't seriously hurt... this goes to show you how invisible us motorcyclists are.. and the reason we get a set of straight pipes to louden things up. I'd call the city or town and report it. If I were there at the time I would have stayed on the ground and called 911 to report the emergency vehicle that just hit.. but hindsight is 20/20... I would definitely report it!! Maybe they did not realize that it had happened, and they did know, I would take appropriate action Sounds like a multi-million dollar law suit to me! Congratulations, now you can buy a new bike! Report it to the police in that area, even though they were trying to get to an emergency they still have to be very careful that they do not hurt anyone in the process. Not to mention they have insurance just like you do, there is no money out of there pocket. glad your alright..... i would of called 911 and told them what happened.... the fire truck probably didn't even know it hit you in the first place. the dispatcher would be able to see which truck it was and give you numbers to contact. i would call the police that is an offence if he seen you , i know its a long shot but perhaps he never seen you is that possible? whatever happens goodluck. Though you have to respect people who put their life on the line for others, that gives them no right to injure other people in the process. you should report the incident to the police. Not necessarily for damages, but the driver should be re-tested, before getting behind the wheel of an emergency vehicle. |
