How can I stop neighborhood children from playing in my yard? |
I have spoke with their parents and it continues to happen. I live on the highest hill in our neighboorhood and have a very dangerous driveway. They skateboard and ride there bike down my driveway and have even skateboarded on my front deck. Today I caught 3 young boys stomping on our brick retaining wall and kicking the lights down around them. The boys range from age 4 to 8. They ran away and hide in my yard when I went to talk to them and ran away when I went to find them behind a tree. I knocked on the parents door and nobody answered the door. I don't want to call the police and become the neighboorhood witch. What can I do? Lay land mines. lol Call the police. It's your only option. If one of those kids gets hurt on your property, you KNOW the parents are going to blame you, no matter what. You need to establish an official record that you have tried to prevent an accident. Protecting your property does not make you "the neighborhood witch". Call the police. shoot them in the *** with an air soft it will send the message in a redneck gerogia type of way Well if their parents don't do anything you'll have to eventually call the cops. It's not like you can discipline the kids yourself. Fence it all in, get one of those remote gates at your driveway entry, very high-class. Really, document your efforts to keep them off the property in case someone gets hurt. Well when one of them gets hurt and their parents try to sue, you will wish you were the witch. Can you speak to their parents and express your concerns of their getting hurt and the damage you have seen them do. I would call the police if only just to ask their advice. Good luck. |
