I just sold a Scooter and I need your Opinion? |
Hi, I sold a Brand new Scooter (50cc) to a guy and after he went clear across town, he called me and stated that he could not get the scooter started. When I told him that my boyfriend was a Mechanic, all of an sudden he stated that the bike started right up. Then two days later he returned and said that the turning signals didnt work. I found a blown fuse, so I replaced it, rode it about 12 city blocks, tested the horn, lights, and turning signal, brakes and came back. Everyting was fine, but when he rode it around the block, he came back with a blown fuse. So, my boyfriend and I took the darn thing a part, checked all of the wires, he and I both go on it and rode it 20 miles, testing everything, and we still could not get the fuse to blow. So, I gave the gentleman back his money. Another man from the same country as the man before kept calling me all week long. He bought the scooter and now he is complaing of the same thing. Can someone tell me what is the deal with these two men? Sounds like a scam to me. By claiming they keep blowing fuses, they are attempting to get you to refund some of the money. Since both men are from the same Country, they could be "partners" in the scam. I'd ignore their calls; as they say in Latin, "Caveat emptor!" scam artists.....to the next person you sell it too, your selling it as is and they have any problems after the they buy the car, your happy to help them but there is no refund. You can simply avoid them, it was bought as is. On the other hand, if you want to be rid of them, give them their money back and be done with them. The next person you sell to be very explicit and say as is. anytime you make up a bill of sale for anything used it should say on the BOS in "as is" condition, that way when they drive off it is theirs....... you sold as is anything that breaks is not your fault or your problemb so it is his and thats final all repairs and costs heck ill be glad to take a scooter that way heck im looking for one now anyways but anyways if it is just a fuse it is his problemb you sold it its sold thats final no come backs tell him to bring it to a repair shop you cant help him and if he returns to you again call the police for harrassment pretty easy hope this helps sincerly josh |
