Motorbike won't start.crank but no ignition? |
im reposting this question because i missed out a few details and i need a reply. im really new to motorbikes, so any help would be greatly appreciated. today my bike died whilst i was driving it, about 10miles into a journey, and refused to start. it won't kick start, and won't even bump start. the engine cranks, but thats it. and it didn't just stall, there was a loss of power- i noticed it slowing down- and then slowly came to a halt. but lights, horn, etc work, and the starter motor turns. what could it be? the KILL switch is on RUN, it has a new spark plug, and it sparks.it has a full tank of fresh fuel, and the spark plug is wet when i crank it.it makes no difference if the choke is on or if the petcock is on prime or reserve. the battery is fully charged, and connected what the hell is it!? the engine cranks and sparks- but it doesn't seem to want to ignite... i dont know if this helps, but i can feel air coming out the exhaust when i crank it any feedback appreciated thanks Your problem is quite common for motor bikes. You have small partical stuck in your idle cicuit jet.You are not getting fuel into the engine because of this plugged jet. Take the carbureter float bowl off and with a ssmall screw driver remove the idle jet. Take a fine needle and clear the small orfice. You may also try compessed air.Once you can see light through it put it backtogether. You may need an in line fuel filter. Source(s): M/C tech. I know it's always nice to be able to work on your own bike but I think you should just take it to a qualified technician. I know this isn't much help but you seem to have tried everything. Good luck! what brand is this bike what model of motorcycle do you have. then we can help you. we need to know what we are dealing with. dealer 6 years hm i no nothing about that **** |
