Where is the flasher unit for the left side (seated on Motorcycle) front turn signal on an 1994 HD FLSTC ? |
Blinker doesn't operate, but bulb lights up, indicating that the flasher unit is at fault. Fine, where the HE11 is it? I've been wrenching behind work I paid a mechanic (using the term ever so loosely, but he has a shop, and diplomas) to do for too long, and am frustrated, beyond the pale to use an old expression. All I wanna do is ride to a bike gathering tonight, without fear of a ticket, and ride home without being hit, after dark. Wrong, If the right side flashes, your flasher is fine. There is not an independent flasher element like in a car, it is part of the module that does the canceling, they seldom fail. It is very ,very likely it is as simple as a bad bulb, the fronts are a 2 element and the rear a single. If an element in either bulb is out it will cause the very sensitive flasher/cancel module to malfunction. If your bulbs are cool ,the other common cause of the blinker to fail is a short in your signal wires. You will simply have to follow the wires from the signal up looking for damage. Source(s): Common area for short is where the wires go through and under rear fender. Bottom out lately? I'm of limited help on turn signals. I take them off as soon as I get a new bike home. But I'm guessing the flasher unit should be under your dash cover. Like a car you only have one that both signals are wired through. Like in a lot of cars wiring if a turn signal stays on it might be an indication that you have another bulb out. Like if the front signal stays on the back one may be out, and vise versa. If the front signal on the left side stays on check the rear signal on the left sides bulb. If the right side signal flashes it's not your flasher unit. Like I said there's only one flasher unit, like in a car, that both sides are run to. |
