*Vultures Knob>>>Bike Lights

My motorcycle produces a strong smell of gasoline when it's running. Why???!!!?

When I stop at a light, I get a strong odor of gas coming from my bike. What's wrong with it, what problems could it cause if left untreated, and how much would it cost?

your carbs need to be rebuilt you would be lucky to get this done for $250.
Your carbuerator needs an adjustment. Your bike is running much to richly. It should not cost more than 50 or so dollars for an adjustment , assuming you don't need any new parts.
Your engine isn't igniting all the fuel mixture. Could be derived from a faulty spark plug, small cracks in the engine, or poor spark plug wires.
Just like automobiles, people need to swap plugs and wires to make sure there's a true spark voltage going through not just 30% from old age, normal wear and tear.

Unless your bike is over 10 years old, i wouldn't say a carb. job is needed since there are only minimal parts in a bike versus a car. But plugs are $1.50 and wires are about 5 bucks. You can also run carb cleaner, fuel injector cleaner (its also safe because its a combustible), or any other you choose to help clean everything out.

You have a fuel switch, on there is full fuel and reserve. Try turning this knob to reserve and drive it that way, it will not harm anything at all. And see if this problem still arises. What this is doing is making sure you provide a regular amount of fuel to the engine and making sure this amount gets burned. I have my motorcycle on reserve all the time, not to mention its better fuel economy.
