2006 GSXR 1000 Instrument cluster problems?

I have recently purchased a wrecked 2006 gixxer 1000 that im going to fix up. When i first got the bike the instrument cluster worked perfectly. I then realized that the gas tank had water in it and i took it completely off and pulled out the fuel pump to drain all the water. I also pulled the air cleaner off to check plugs. After doing so my Instrument cluster will light up but the tach needle wont flick back and forth and none of the numbers show up. Just a blank lit screen. Ive checked fuses and all the connections and still nothing. Plese help me!

Get an electrical diagnostic manual and follow the flow chart to find the problem. If you do not want to do that, I would recommend getting a voltmeter and checking the points to see where you broke the connection. Tach wires are not simple yes or no connections, they rely on variations in voltage to send a different signal. The flow chart is always your best bet.
pull the tank off look for loose wire going to the engine
Robin R has the right answer here. From what you have told us about the maintinance then you did nothing to do with the electronics going to the cluster except for the low fuel light wire. Get the wire diagrams for it and a voltage metor, or even a light tester to start out with.
