I met in an accident. Can you help me?

Ok. I met in accident with a biker. I was driving a car.

How the accident occured:

I stopped at a red light. There were 3 lanes. I was on the left lane waiting to make a left turn. So this means I was waiting for the green arrow to give me the go.

Once the green arrow came on, I made my left turn. BAM! I biker ran into me.

I told the cops what had happened. Today I got the police report. This was what it said " Biker said car driver made an U-Turn and hit him off the bike."

Me make an U-Turn? very funny.

Police record " Car driver is wrong.

What the F????? Can you explain this to me, and how can I fight this crap out?

I can help you, but not until you give all the information. Include what direction you were going, and what direction the biker was going. What was the point of impact on both vehicles.

You can email me direct. Source(s): Me, retired Police Officer
Well if you were following the rules of the road, then you can't be wrong.

Was it a double turn lane? Because if you failed to stay within the left lane's dotted-lined guides, then technically yes, you are at fault.

Otherwise, that is bullshit and you should fight that to the T.

good luck.
I can try to help you as best I can but first I need some info... was there any damage to your car? If so where? What about the bike, where is the damage located? What are you being charged with? Do you have to appear in court? Do you have any witnesses to the accident? Were you in a city where pedestrians have the right of way no matter what the situation? If that is the case then you're going have a difficult time proving that you're not in the wrong without having a witness.
Hi,
I live in Texas and me and my family are very involved in riding bikes and under normal circumstances biker and pedestrians have the right away here. In all other countries this is not the case. For example people in Japan do not walk out in front of cars until they see the walk sign. Here this concept isn't even close to the same. A biker here is supposed to obey the traffic laws just as a car so he very well could of been in the wrong but normally they aren't going to look at it that way until you can say that the light had turned green and he came out of nowhere. Hope this helps....it really might be helpful to look up the traffic laws of your state.

This will help for the state of texas but you will need to look up your dmv for your state.
