I am worried i lost random 15 pounds please help?



6 months ago i weighed in at 170 pounds which is the weight i liked but i lost 15 pounds and i still worked out and jogged and biked. so what did i lose muscle or fat? i stopped working out for 2 months then i started back again in that time but how can you lose 15 pounds. I currently weigh 155 but i am doing heavier weights then when i used to be 170 what does it mean? i checked my body fat percentage and i currently have 26 pounds of fat and 129 pounds of muscle is that good? is 126 pounds of muscle good ? because in my mind 155 pounds is very light and i am a little worried.

Most likely you lost your fat. You did not mention if you continued eating healthy, cut back on your meals, or if anything changed in your appetite. I assume you continued but the your calorie intake was continuously less than the amount of calories oyou burned thorugh exercising. Furthermore, if you are now lifting more weights (hence exercising more strenuously) then you are definitely burning more calories. If you think your weight is too little (depends on your height but if you are at least a 5'10" male then it is a little on the light side). You should find a weight you feel comfortable with.. say in the middle of your 155 and 170 lbs.. and gain it by increasing your calorie intake. Remember, if you want to lose weight, then you must burn more calories than you eat. If you want to gain muscle and weight, you must eat more than you burn. Just make sure you eat the right foods- eating more does not mean eating fast food... If you need, perhaps you can find some supplements like protein & whey powders... Good luck!!!

ps. Your percentage of body fat is pretty good. Remember all bodies need some fat, so don't dip too low. It will only mess up your metabloism in the future if you ever deviate from your workout/health regimen. If you are really worried and uncomfortable, please see your doctor. Weightloss can also be due to depression or disfuctions in your body. Please don't wait to see a doctor.. =)

OK - how do you know how much of what you lost is fat vs muscle? Are you working with a trainer who has the proper equipment to test you? If so, I'd pose this question to them.

Chances are you are building muscle and losing fat. Have you gone down a lot in clothing size? That would be the key to your answer. If you lose fat and gain muscle your body mass is tighter and smaller. I am assuming you are male and that is why you think 155 light. One can be "light" and still be strong and fast. As long as you feel strong and healthy, don't worry about the weight - unless of course, you lost the 15 pounds over a short time and are feeling weak and unhealthy. If you are jogging and biking I can't see you having lost muscle.

But you most likely lost fat- that's what happens after you lose water. then muscle is the last to be lost and then only if you don't eat enough protein to keep building muscles.
That means you lost about 2 pounds every month over 6 months, which in my opinion really isn't that bad. Maybe it's just from seeing people asking questions on here about how to lost 15 pounds in a week, lol. I could be wrong, but it doesn't sound that bad to me. Even my mom weighs about 157, and she's 57 herself. It's possible that because of the heavier weights and jogging and biking, it just went fast.
They say, even if you are at your weight you should be at, you still are obese. They say you have fat around your heart, kidneys, all your vital organs. And that fat can kill. So if you are working out, its good.
