It looks like a Jet bike?

I put together a beach cruser bicycle and added some left over jet parts from my days of building jet cars.
Its for mere amusement. It has an exaust system mounted below the handlebars.
Propane was my chosen fire/fuel source.
It shoots out 4' flames.
I have a 12v power box for the many lights I run off it.
My (spark igniters) set up at the end of the exaust pipes are always hit and miss! I'd like to set up something that could glow, red hot for a sure and reasonably safe ignition source.
Any ideas?

Spark igniters? Like spark plugs, or Something entirely different? It should be relatively simple to mount a spark plug so the ingition pin is inside the pipe, and just run an ignition switch from the spark plug to the battery. Put an interrupt switch in that wire somewhere between the two, so all you have to do is push a button, and you have instant spark. If this doesn't work, make sure the fuel source is located far enough from the spark so that the fumes have time to expand, and fill the pipe, before hitting the spark. Having the fuel soucre to close to the ingnition source can cause an improper fuel/air mix, meaning the fuel just plain won't burn the way you want it to. This may also be causing your flames to burn out before they even start up...
