Insurance...?

i live in Tx. and im lookn to by a motrcylce how much would insurance cost me for the bike... i heard that age has alot to do with it.. Im 20

Progressive is good for motorcycles. my husband is insured thru them. It's his first bike but he's a bit older than you are. But anyway he pays $75 for a years worth.

Like other's have said call around. Get quotes from as many places as you can. Then pick the one you can afford the best.

Age, location, accident ticket history, and type of vehicle ( or in your case motorcycle) all apply to the premium of insurance.

If you've had a clean record, and you live in an area where not many accident claims have been made, then you may get off pretty cheap. Every area is different. The best thing you can do its call around and get a free price quote over the phone. Many companies will do it for free. The best one I've ever rated with for motorcycles has been Progressive. You may have luck with them. Like I said, call around and price things before you commit to an insurance company. Gas prices are too high to go from insurance broker to insurance broker trying to find the best price. So DO call around. While one company may have a great rate, another company may have an even better one.

You'll most likely need your driver's license number, the vin number for your cycle if you don't know them so that you can get an accurate rate and not have a chance of the price changing when you go to buy the insurance. It happens a lot and usually the price has gone up. Everything else you'll be asked you should know by heart ( birthday, social security number, phone number, address and so on)

Hope this helps.

** Oh and your gender applies to the premium too. Statistics have shown that males have been involved in more accidents and have had more tickets than females between the ages of 16-25. So you will notice that females rates will be cheaper most of the time.

It depends on different factors (age, driving record, type of bike, etc).

There are free on-line services that you can take advantage of to get the best rate. A couple that I know that are reliable:

http://mysite.verizon.net/ressg6c7/savin...

Note before you can get quotes from these free service you will need some basic information on the bike (yr, make, model, cc's, etc.)

Not sure about in TX but in NJ we have Rider (thank god)...for my first bike (02 ninja 250) for full coverage (liability, collision, theft, fire etc..) only paid $328 for the full year...and like i said...its my first bike and im 20 so id say its pretty damn good...so check em out...if its available in TX

i'm in ohio, liability only for me is 500/yr
