I got a new bike in Chicago, IL; now what? What do I do? Register, license? What?

I have my bike now, but what steps should I take next?

1. Register the bike
2. Get insurance
3. Get plates
4. Get a small permit from the DMV?

Tell me if this sounds alright?

Step one: Operation of a motorcycle or motor driven cycle in the State of Illinois requires a valid license with the proper classification.

Class L is any motor driven cycle with less than 150 cc displacement
Class M is any motorcycle with 150 cc or greater displacement

Then insurance, since you will need to show proof of insurance to register the bike.
