Will my insurance go up?

Ok, So i got a ticket for passing and overtaking in the bike lane. This is my first offense EVER! I have a VA license and I got a ticket in NC.

I have two question:

Will my insurance go up?
Will i get this ticket dismissed?

Question 1: Open up your auto insurance policy and read it. There is no way anybody on here can know what your policy says.

Question 2: No. Why in the world would it be dismissed? You can either go to court to challenge the charge or mail in the money. If you get lucky and the officer who wrote the ticket doesn't show up in court, the judge has to throw it out.

Your insurance will go up cause its a moving violation. But if you only have one ticket then it shouldn't be to much. And you can pay a lawyer to get the ticket dismissed and off your record, they can get you out of pretty much any traffic violation. Buts thats usually pretty expensive. And you would have to be in NC to get it dismissed.

1) rarely does insurance go up with one offense - one accident - yes - but rarely with moving violations

2) also most states allow you to take defensive driving once a year so you can do that but the ticket is always on your record even though they say it is "dismissed"
