How can i recover my stolen motorcycle?

I have no insurance...just got the bike and was trying to sell it again due to finding out my fiance is pregnant...please help i allready made a police report but i no they arent going to do ****

it was a yamaha r6 2006 blue and white

i have the vin number

and do have pictures

if u know anything else that can help me email me at vo_joey@yahoo.com so we can talk directly

This happened to a friend and I told him to go to all the nearby dealers and let them know so they can watch out for anyone trying to get a key for it. His bike was recovered after they tried to get a gas cap....

What kind of bike was it? The police will do what police do which is much of nothing (and they really can't do anything except act on tips or stumble upon your bike when they bust someone for something else, this is if the bike has not been chopped up).

Do you have any pictures? Do you have a title? I would assume there is no registration and tags if you had no insurance. Do you know the VIN?

On your own, you can investigate. Perhaps have people keep an eye out. Put out ads, 'have you seen me' posters. Short of threatening a bunch of people which may get you into more trouble (and not with the law), there isn't much you can do.

I hope your bike turns up. Unless it is a very popular bike or has high demand parts on it, it was most likely stolen so some one could joy ride it and it just may turn up somewhere, but they are easier to "dump" than cars.

Good luck.

Watch craigslist and ebay for the cities within 100 miles of you like a hawk. They can change the color and VIN, but not the make or model.

You might even post a craigslist wanted add for the exact back and see if someone hits you up.

If you know people that ride. You might be able to bait the thieves with another bike by leaving it in the same location. When they come to still it, tools that you'd use to boost a bike sure look like a gun. If you thought they were going to shoot you and your blew their head off I'm sure most DA's would understand.

bastards!!

Do you know who got it??

Watch the shipping containers at the ports and across the mexican border.. :(
Unless you have a clue who took it... Sorry dude!
