Motorcycle people, help me decide?

i got an 07 R6S last summer, i got the S because it was my first bike, now im still alive and want to upgrade, should i wait for the 09 R6 or just get the 08 R6? and what would the insurance difference be between an R6 and an R1?

or should i get the GSXR 750?

I'd say hang onto the R6S for another season; it's a strong, reliable bike, and, because advancements in 600 tech are so minimal as seen by the average rider, there's really not *that* much reason to upgrade. Besides, a friend of mine has always said that avoiding death on a motorcycle doesn't necessarily equate to quality riding experience.

However, if you must have a new one, I'd go with another R6 when the model gets redone.

Well, its a tough choice. I would say go ahead and get the 08 model. Much more agressive model than your 07r6s, (plus, youll have to wait another year for the 09) or are you going to say in 09, ..should i wait till 10? Your own patience level and want it now or not attitude. I have always preferred the yamaha over the gixxers. I made the same decision of a 07r6 over a 07gsx750, and never regretted it. amazing bike. As far as insurance? I know its much more for anything 1k cc's and above, considered a competely different class (which it is obviously) but i think they think this is the "i want to die" classification so they can jump the rates way up there. There was a difference of 64$ a month for the r6, to 260$ a month for the r1 for me @ 29 with 0 wrecks 0 tickets. Hell, for just sh*ts and giggles, i got a quote for a 08 'busa 1340cc's....lol... 425$ a month for insurance....bla!

You need to shop around for the insurance, I would start with the carrier you already have if you have a car already insured with one company they will usually give you a multiple vehicle discount for having more than one vehicle insured through them. You could also raise your deductible and that would lower your monthly rate and you could also pay every six months instead of monthly that would lower your rate as well. I bought a 2005 Hayabusa and paid only 120 a month for full coverage insurance doing the things I mentioned above and I was only 22 years old at the time. I went through state farm which I already have a truck insured through and they gave me the multi vehicle discount. I called geico and Allstate and they wanted 12000 a year, screw that.

All of these bikes are kinda pricey. Depending on age and experience. You'll need to ask you agent. Get the 750 you'll always want to go bigger if you got the 6 but the 750 will give you enough power. 1000 and ups are for the big boys. You rarely use that kinda power and lets face it other people on the road don't look for bikes. 750

GSX-R 750,

you'll never want to ride yamaha again, trust me.

and if your getting something new, wait till the new models start coming in to buy one, you'll get a good deal.

why not take a chance and be different. buy a Triumph Daytona!
