Bad police.. esp biased against bikers? |
After becoming the victim of a hit and run, the cop at the scene came up with some curious conclusions. He had seen this "a hundred times." After inspecting my bike, he reassured me that there was very little damage, and it was probably still in streetworthy shape. He claimed there was no sign of collision damage, the forks looked ok, and there was just fairing damage. Because the witnesses (who were 20 feet away, almost directly behind me) couldn't agree on the color of the other vehicle, their claim of watching me getting hit and flying through the air was no good. I had most likely dumped the bike, so he would report this as a single vehicle accident, but don't worry, it is definitely the other drivers fault and the insurance claim will be the same. the aftermath and interacted with the eye witnesses, he quickly amended the situation. Go CSI on them if you know the time and area look for bank atm survellance tapes or if any business around the area has cameras Man, I feel for you. That sucks so much, I'm absolutely speechless. I hope everything works out for you. what state? was the pig blind? Have your insurance receptive come to your house and look at your bike. And you explain to the insurance about police. The insurance can help you out for investigation Thanks for the warning. A friend of mine hit a jaywalking homeless guy with her car a few months ago and the legal nightmare is unbelievable. I guess the lesson is to quickly gather witnesses and be aggressive from the start. What kind of bike? My brother has three. First is a 1976/77 Honda CJ360T, second is a Yamaha Seca Turbo, and third is a 1990 something Buell X1 Lightning. He needs parts for all of these bikes, and if yours is any one of these, please tell me. |
