Torn btwn Yamaha FJR1300 & Suzuki V-Strom 1000 advise pls?

What's the market price for these 2 bikes in S'pore?
Any recommendations on which is better & where available?
I'm 30 yrs old, how much would the insurance be, roughly?

The Yamaha FJR 1300 is probably the more complete, more comfortable package, especially on longer trips. Although, you see them both used on Iron Butt events.

If money is no object, then it really is a personal preference. test ride them both and then decide.

Call the insurance company first ,then is a personal preference, how comfortable is the bike in long rides,is it fast enough for u?looks and gas mileage. So many different variables.I have heard nothing but good things about the V Strom.

I don't know about price in singapore. The Yamaha FJR1300 is a better bike and the price will reflect that. The FJR is a 4 cylinder while the Vstrom is a v twin. The 4 cyclinder will run smoother and produce a tremendous amount of power. Personally, I like the 2 cylinder engines better. The 4 cylinder engines can run so smooth that you depend on the tachometer to tell you what the engine is doing. The 2 cylinder engines produce enough feedback that the tack is just a nice extra. I usually ask myself, "How much power is enough?" The 2 cyclinder engines don't produce as much horsepower as the 4 cylinder engines. But, will hold their speed up and down hills without shifting.

Both bikes, The FJR1300 and the V Strom 1000 are cross country touring bikes.
If ur not planning on riding from Maine to Alaska then both bikes are too much of a bike than what you need.
The V Strom 650 is the exact same frame as the 1000, but its only slightly less power and torque and I would suggest the 650 is a better choice, including lower insurance rates and lower operating costs, and the V Strom 650 has an option of ABS Brakes where the 1000 has none.
