How can you get around motorcycle insurance?

I am trying to get a 2007 Kawasaki ZX-6R. I got denied for the kawasaki card, but they said I could probably get approved threw a bank or another lender. But that way I would need to get insurance, is there anyway of getting a loan without having to put insurance on the bike. I live in the state of florida if that helps.

I know you don't want to hear this but if you can't afford the bike + insurance, you probably shouldn't buy it. Almost anyone who is going to lend you money to get a bike is going to require some form of insurance on the bike. They're protecting their investment.

Why did you get denied through Kawasaki credit?

there is a way, but if kawasaki financial turned you down then you'll more than likely need a co-signer for this.

If you get an unsecured loan (a loan without any collateral) and use the money to buy the bike. Since the bike is not included on the loan or being leaned against then you don't need full coverage insurance, or any insurance for that matter.

But this is very risky, and why wouldn't you want full coverage on a 07 ninja? What about when you dump it, what then, your just gonna be out 8K?

Try an insurence company called foremost, when I got my GSX-R 1000 most major companies quoted me for around 8000/yr. (that's with a near perfect driving record, I'm 20) they charge me 1500, which is still murder but at leas managable

be smart about this.

I iive in Sarasota and have never been asked to provide insurance. Insurance is not necessary in Florida on an M/C unless you ride with no helmet. Then all you need is $10,000 in medical coverage. One thing may be is I have an H-D. And I get my financing through H-D. And I have been doing this for many moons now. Plus I never buy a new bike. I prefer the already tested tech, and bike that has been run with no trouble for a while.

I'm also over 40 years old (Well over, but not quite 50 yet.) and thay may have something to do with it. I also have been getting my bikes a the same dealer using my old one as a trade in. I don't know if this a factor, but I do carry insurance. I've never been asked for it, but I don't know if thay can tell from a computer inquiry if you have it or not.

H-D is a little less strict on some things than the other dealers are. Selling a $16,000 bike is putting big dough in someones pocket. A race bike that goes for less than that may put the fear of God into some dealers/salepeople.

You could contact the Florida insurance comission and see if having to show insurance is descrimination since state law does not require it. Or you could just put a bug in the dealers ear that you are going to do that. They really don't like to be investigated.

Hope that helps you out. Ride safe. Ciao!

P.S. I'm paying a little less than $400 a year for full coverage on my FXDWG. (It has the TC-88 motor, not the little 1,200 cc one.) And thats with the extra coverage for over $5,000 of "bling" on the 'Ol Gal.

Thats illegal, what if you should hurt somebody else let alone screw up your bike..?

First - you need insurance...
but if you want to be crooked, this has been done...

Buy your insurance from an agency that serves low income neighborhoods... they always accept a low down payment for the first installment. Example: "Cycle Insurance, $59 down!" Now, with insurance in hand, you can get a loan, plates, registration, etc. Unscrupulous owners then never make another insurance payment...

Why you don't want to do this: 1. it is illegal. 2. If stopped by the police, you will go to jail and have your bike impounded. 3. If you wreck, expect many pricey legal troubles in civil court. If you don't pay, you will have your income and tax refund check garnished, and could have a bench warrant placed on you as well.

You should not get any motorized vehicle without insurance. In addition to the minimum insurance you should get gap insurance to cover the gap between what the bike is worth and what you owe on the loan.

Perhaps you should consider an older bike if you cannot afford a loan or insurance.

co-signer is the only other option you have. If you can't afford it, then buy something else or get a used one from another dealer.

Here's how the real world works, young Padawan:

When you take out a loan, basically a bank agrees to pay for the entire bike up front and you agree to pay the BANK back that money plus interest. The interest is where the bank makes a profit.

But even though you are riding the bike, the bank still owns it, and they want to be sure they get ALL their money back and then some from their investment. That means if you wad up the bike after a year and can't pay it off, they lose their investment, and when have you EVER known a bank to do that willingly?

So the bank requires you to insure the bike with FULL COVERAGE to protect their property while you are out being squidly on it. When you sign the loan agreement, it states as much in plain English, and your signature makes it legally binding.

Understand? No insurance, no loan.

the only way to have a zx-6r, without getting insurance to buy the radio controlled model. which it sounds like you need until you grow up. get a vehicle, get the Required insurance.

When you buy a bike and they finance it you have to get insurance as in reality, you don't own the bike or the pink slip, the bank does.

So I would suggest getting a used bike. I have a Kawasaki zx-10 and I bought it used. It's not some new bike but it will beat any 600 out there and my insurance for the full year is $130 with AAA (triple a)

I have basic liability so if someone steals the bike I'm out the money but I paid little for it anyways so I am willing to take the risk.

Now..if you get the bike new and finance it the insurance is a lot higher as they require insurance on the bike if someone steals it so you have to pay through the nose for that.

Same exact thing with a car, if you are financing the insurance requirements are a lot higher.

Worst yet, if you miss an insurance payment they will repo the bike so fast it will make your head spin.

When I bought my bike I used my credit card with 0 apr which no dealer can beat that...none of them.

I would get a used bike off of the sites below and try to pay cash with it. You can get a used Kawasaki cheap and you don't have to pay the higher insurance.

I have seen guys get a bike and their payments are sometimes $300 or $400 a month! That's not even counting insurance so the poor guy has a nice bike but he can't even enjoy it.

I am not bad mouthing the dealers but you are paying not just top dollar but even over blue book, way over blue book when buying there.

I would recommend craigslist below.

Get the insurance. I use Foremost and I have several bikes insured with them. My cost for 7 bikes and sccoters is only $270.00 a year for full coverage.
