Info about an accident?

Long story short. I co-signed for a loan on a motorcycle and now she isn't paying for the bike. I want to find out if the bike was in an accident. I was told she was. I have the co-signers DL number, legal name and the bikes VIN. I don't how ever have the name of her insurance. I am trying to recover the bike but can't locate it or who I cosigned with. the bike was hers and has moved . The repo people can't seem to locate the bike either. I wonder, also, if the police will escort me to her home when I do locate it.

If the bike is registered to her, you can't just take it.
That's what sucks about being a co-signer, the debt is part yours ,but the property isn't.
Be prepared to cough up the difference between what is owed and what the repo company can recover, they will show no mercy.
Your only recourse is to locate and sue the bikes owner for any financial loses you incur.

if in the UK you can forget help from police

It all depends on where you live. I know around here in VA, accident reports are public record. You can get copies of them from the records department of the local police department where the accident occurred. As for the police going with you, it also depends on where you are from again. Around here the police will go with you to just keep the peace.

i hope she was worth it!!

and that's why i'll never co-sign
