What would the insurance on a ninja zx6 by for a 16 year old?

im 15 and i love bikes but im not the richest kid around can anybody tell me the approximent cost would be for insurance when i turn 16

Typically, insurance rates are filed by the various insurance companies that are licensed to do business in your State, and they vary from State to State.

The best thing to do is call a LOCAL independent agent. Just look in the phone book for the PIA or Big I (Trusted Choice) logos and you will find a professional licensed agent that will be able to help you solve your insurance problems.

An independent insurance agent will normally have a dozen different companies and if he cannot help you, he should be networked with other local agents that can. Be sure to ask them if they write motorcycle insurance.

Being only 16, you will have to have a parent or legal guardian sign the application for you if a company will alow you to be the named insured. If not, you will have to have the insurance in their name and list you as a driver. If you are under 18, you cannot sign a contract and an insurance policy IS a contract between the company and the insured.

A lot of folks say "PROGRESSIVE" and as an agent, I use them but, they are NOT always the best. Each rider is judged by his/her own merits. experience, type of bike, age, driving record - so, you might look for American Modern Home, Pacific Specialty, Foremost, Dairyland (just to name a few.)

And just a rule of thumb: The closer you come to riding straight up and down, the lower the rates will be. The obverse of this is ALSO true...the more you have to lean forward becoming closer to the horizontal to ride the bike, the HIGHER the rates will be.

Good luck, ride RESPONSIBLY and I hope this helps!

Do you plan on getting liability only or full coverage. The difference is this:

Liability only covers only the person YOU hit in an accident. It doesn't cover your Ninja at all.

Full Coverage, depending on your service, should cover your damages as well as whoever you hit in an accident.

Difference? Liability only doesn't discriminate your rates based on vehicle, full coverage does. If you go with full coverage, expect to pay both of your legs and an arm or 10. They rape you for what it really is. If you're confidant with your driving ability, (which you shouldn't at your age, me included) then go for liability only.

Best of luck deciding =)

probably around $450 a month.

Chances are, if you are planning on buying it under your own name it will probably be really expensive. you are probably better off getting it under your parents' name. You should probably do some research and get quotes from different insurance companies. Your insurance cost wil ldepend on a combination of different things such as your geographical location and your driving record.
