How much would it cost to by a cbr 600?

im 17 and looking at buying a cbr 600 for my first bike but i want to know how much insurance and other things that i will need......can u help

if you wanna buy a cbr as your first bike, go with an older one, such as the F3. It will be cheaper to buy and insure. Insurance will be quite high for you, even with only liability. You will need riding gear. Helmet, license, jacket, gloves. Cutting corners on safety is your first step to messing yourself up bad. The second step is riding like an idiot. Take it very easy on any crotch rocket until you get used to it. They are tame if you ride them that way, but if you start riding like a fool, they will dump you into a fence faster than you can imagine.

I have two Suzuki gsxr's. For my 1998 750 I paid $3000 for it, $300 for gear, $180 in sales tax, $30 for title and registration, $11.50 for license endorsement, and $30ish a month for insurance.

There will be fools on here calling you squid and noob for starting out riding on a cbr 600. Dont listen to them. You can start out riding on ANY motorcycle if you ride it smart. That is the key though. Ride it smart.

insurance will be high for a 17 year old. You'll need a motorcycle license too. In Michigan you need to be 18 for that. Go to Honda.com for new bike prices. And be careful on that thing! Always were a helmet! That uncomfortable thing saved my life 21 years ago.

do not buy a 600cc sport bike as your first bike.

assuming you can afford the bike, the insurance will still bankrupt you.

a CBR600 is a really really powerful bike. it would be like having a viper as your first car. just not smart.

get a GS500, or an EX500. or an EX250 if you don't like the looks of the 500. a small bike will still be faster than 90% of cars.
