i am 17 in january and i beleive i can get a 125cc bike...what is the speed limit on a 125cc or will it not be restricted...and how much will the insurance cost...a rough estimate will do...i live in england...and what tests will i need to pass... don't know about insurance because i'm as old as the hills and it depends on where you live, where you'll keep the bike etc etc.
license wise... you'll need to start with a cbt to get you going on (something up to) a 125 with L plates.
to lose the L plates you'll need to do the full test... on a 75-125cc bike (A1) or on a 121-125cc (A) the second one... A.. means you'll be restricted for 2 years to 25kw (33bhp) and a power-to-weight ratio of 0.16 kw/kg.
(the speed limit on a 125 is the same as it is for other road users, you'll know when you've exceeded the speed limit when either a) two bright flashes go off behind you or b) blue flashy noisiness erupts behind you.)
the 125 you can get are limited to 11kw power but no speed restrictions per se. either something like a cb125 or a race rep like a yamaha tzr 125.
do the test before october 08 and you won't have to do the new, harder one.
