Like give me a rough estimate.
Ok so i find a relatively good deal on a 10 year old used jeep wrangler in good enough condition to last a few years,
Im 17 at the time of purchase so the insurance (im in MA if that matters) will be insane, although it will be on my parents policy
I drive it sparingly, like maybe 50-100 miles a week, sometimes not at all as i will be biking whenever possible
So can you give me a ballpark estimate? I know thats not enough info you dont have to point that out, just give me a very rough estimate, like 10k?15?25? hmm.... I live in MA also
How much is your jeep?
-Sales tax should be around $150-550 depending on price range I just paid $350 on a $7500 Subaru.
-Registration fee $45
-Inspection $29
-Insurance with no collision (It's an old car) $1600ish
--With collision $2100ish
-Gas $2000 ($40 a week...You WILL drive more than 50-100)
-REPAIRS $$$$ (Tires, maintenance, brakes, brake downs) plan for at least $1000. It WILL be at the shop, it's an old jeep.
=$4824 - $5,724 Plus the price you paid for the Jeep, or total of payments if your parents got a loan for you.
I hope that helps. A 10 year old wrangler will probably cost between $5000-$10000 depending on how many miles it has on it.
Annual maintenance will just be oil changes and fluids so a couple of hundred plus whatever it costs you to license and inspect per year in MA.
However what really matters is costs of repairs. These will depend on the condition of the car when you buy it. Before you buy anything have it inspected by a mechanic and ask the seller for their maintenance records to see what they've done to it.
Also anything can happen. Before you buy have a plan for what you would do if you had to deal with a $500 repair. You post your profile on this webiste and then lenders come to you. I recommend trying
