Im looking for new and cheap help me out...?

Im looking for a new street bike! for like maybe a 98 or 99 600cc... I was thinking CBR600RR but I just read that the ninja 600 has the best fuel economy something like 79 miles per gal...? I ride yamaha off road and I do like yamaha but is there one that is better than another? also im a young guy so my insurance is gonna be through the roof is ther any bike that i will pay less for and less on my insurance? GSXR, CBR, Ninja???? oh yea and how much am i looking at for something of that year? thanks a ton...!!!

If you really want a crotch rocket,I would recomend a honda for overall performance but not for price.Suzuki is probably your best for price, but they're too light in the turns and seem to have an odd ballance point. I manage a motorcycle salvage yard and see plenty of suz and yamaha's and very few Hondas. As far as saving money, call places that are snowed in. They're more apt to sell a bike much cheaper during the off season.Always check for history and warranty as sportbikes are traditionally ridden very hard.
suzuki gsxr for performance. track winning repeatedaly in stock, super stock for many years in a row now. but a sport touring, like suzuki suzuki katana (cant think of the other manufactors bike sin this class) , sport cruiser or cruiser is much much cheaper on insurance rates.
Unless you really NEED the performance of a 600cc Sportbike, I would consider a standard. Even if you've been riding off road for a long time the street is different. Humor me. Try looking into standards. Suzuki makes a GSF600 Bandit (4cyl), or SV650 (twin). Yamaha made the SECA II (4cyl). I'm sure there are others, but for a 97-98 bandit 600 you will find a beautiful example for around $2200 and the performance will be more than enough for the street. The SV650 will be a little more because 99 was the first year they where out. The Yam can be had for less. They are a joy to ride, easy to work on and CHEAP!

For any of these bikes the insurance will be much lower and the risk of theft much, much lower.

Good luck with whatever you choose and ride safe.
