Sportbikes?

i always wanted a sportbike because they are stylish, gas is cheap, parking is wonderful, traffic is a breeze, and liability insurance is cheap. Upon buying it i wanted to be able to operate it to my and the bikes full abilities because i don't want to become a statistic and die. I ride my bike year-round. When spring hits all the 'fair weather' riders come out and make the people that actually know how to ride look bad because they attract attention to police and the newspapers because 2 months out of 12 they hop on, do 120 in town and slam into a car pulling out of a parking lot. thanks for helping label bikes as deathtraps. I'm sure you feel cool standing next to your bike outside starbucks. and you might look cool to someone that doesn't know the first thing about motorcycles but the truth is you look like a damn fool. You arent going to learn how to ride if you're in town all the time, you have to go to the mountains and experience some miles. question: do u still think ur cool?

Bike "Owners" (Not Riders), Car-parkers, Polishers, Posers, Sunny Sunday Riders, Point and Squirters, Straightliners, Squids, Fashion Accessories Biker, the list goes on and on..no matter where you go and as long as there are bikes they will always exist..sadly enough.
I never though I was cool

Well ask the question
If you own a getto blaster and riding the streets with a honda decked out with the music blasted is that cool..

Maybe they didn't run into a car but they sure are killing my ears with that chit..
I call the starbucks crew "POSERS" or SQUIDS lol
I've never ridden in town, only long distance. And I definitely feel cool when I ride, mostly with a group.
I am a french sportbike rider (Suzuki 1000 TLS), and I see we have the same people here in France !
I don't call these guys "bikers" but "assholes that own a bike".
They give a bad idea of what a biker is: always wheeling, making noise and burning the rear wheel...
Personnaly, I never do that, but I really appreciate showing them what is sportriding in the mountains around cities...
Sure, I dont have the latest flashy Dainese leather suit, but does that make the pilot ? ;-)
Sport bikes are more expensive to own, maintain and insure then a comparable standard or cruier. Also, it's been my experience that mileage isn't as good as an equivalent sized cruiser/standard.

Besides that, they're somewhat uncomfortable to ride. Look cool? Depends on what you think is cool. I gave up the sportbikes a long time ago.
