Motorcycle license??? |
hey i was just wondering if i already have my regular drivers license and im 17 years old and i went and got my motorcycle license would it cost anything other than just the fee to get them...like would my insurance or anything like that go up just having them and not even owning a bike? thanx kyle Simply having a motorcycle endorsement on your license will not raise your insurance rates. However, if you should rent a bike, you should take out the optional insurance since you probably would not be covered on your current policy. Likewise, should you borrow a friend's bike, you shaould make certain that their insurance covers you as well. Mine will cover anyone with a valid motorcycle license who is an occasional rider as well as myself. One policy that I checked into only covered the riders listed on the policy, so there is some variance within the industry. I hope that this helps. no, insurance is based on the car you drive, your age driving record etc. A motercycle license would only cost the fee at the DMV/Secrertery of state. Insurance usually goes up also. Cant live with it, cant live without it. You haven't been driving long enough to know how to avoid accidents effectively. You should not get a motorcycle, ESPECIALLY not the Gixxer you're thinking about, Junior. Try again in a few years. Most states require anyone under 21 to take the MSF course to get a motorcycle endorsement. The course is about $180 I believe. You are also responsible for your own gloves and boots for the course, that comes out of your pocket. If the MSF is not required in your state, take it anyway. With the limited driving experience you have it is very important to learn to ride properly. Motorcycles are much harder to operate safely and avoid accidents quickly than cars. |
