Any good traffic court defenses for doing 102mph in a 75mph zone? |
Any good lawyers want to offer me some free advice? Figure you'll get some advertising here since billions of people read my questions. 102 in a 75 at night on a bike. No other traffic. Clear conditions. State of AZ. I said and admitted nothing, just yielded my license and insurance papers. He wrote me the ticket and left. Meet with the judge before your court date in his/her office. Dont make excuses ask for a safety class. Thank the officer for making you realize what could of happened if you would of wrecked. Really believe its for your own good. Most of the time you will take a 1 day class 75.00 and the tickets are discarded. you f'd Try the Chewbacca defense. Just tell them you were in a hurry to get to your underground layer to feed Mini Me some Chocolate. No take your medicine and stop trying to wimp out. I'm not an attorney. I've covered a lot of court cases and picked up a lot of police news items in 13 years of journalism. I honestly would say your best bet is to save the drama and go straight to minimizing inconvenience to the court. Plead no contest. Apologize to the court for taking up its time and ask that they take into consideration the lack of traffic and the clear conditions when determining your fate. Be polite, professional, and very, very brief. Judges like this. It's your best chance. Histrionics and the potential for bad acting could really backfire on you here. Don't risk it. That's messed up . . .if no one else is around and it's clear conditions you should really be able to hit at least 150. I'm sure the police have more important things to worry about - they shouldn't be bothering a peaceful biker who just wants to ride fast. Good luck. |
