Hit and Run- How can you prove it?

Lets say you're on a motorcycle and you're weaving traffic in LA. You and another car get into a small accident. Whose fault it is is quesitonable. You drive away. the other driver gets your license plate. he finds you through that. how can they prove that you were the one that hit the car? could you just say that it was a fraud police report? Bottomline: how can they prove it was you? Another thing: you dont even live in that city - you live like 2 hours away. Damages on your bike are none..no damage! how can they prove a hit and run and that it was you? should you tell your insurance company and have them fight it out? what are the penalties? thanx

Well, if the two vehicles/vehicle and motorbike connected, that was a hit, whether the motorbike had any damage to it or not, there was a connection and it's considered a "hit". When the person on the motorbike left the area without giving the other person any of their information, thats' considered fleeing the scene of the accident.

So they can try and prove it if the other person in the vehicle got your license plate number, or another passenger saw you/your motorbike, or any other drivers around there saw you leaving the scene of the accident, then they can charge you with a hit and run. It does not matter if you live across the country, a hit and run is still fleeing from the site, without exchanging information.
i'm not helping u scam some one
u can tell cause there is paint transfer on both of the cars .
Wow.. i have one thing to say... "what goes around comes around".. you are truly a horrible person. People like you make me sick.

There are tons of way for the police to track you down and give you what you deserve- jail time or an expensive ticket.

For example, any 3rd party witnesses who saw your license plate can be evidence. I pray that someone did.

Why dont you actually be a good person and contact your insurance and file a claim? You still have time to turn this around and not get yourself in a heap of trouble..
Well, why would they just try and pin it on someone, the reason they have your plate number is because YOU did it!! So what if you live 2 hours from the scene of the accident, thats irrelevant. Just be honest and sort it out, just remember karma. Put yourself in their shoes, wouldn't you want justice to be served????
